Apart from providing information about the environment and its problems, education is an integral action that seeks to create reflection processes about how our habits and daily actions impact the environment positively or negatively, deriving in the taking of responsibility and the consequent action.

It is recommended that children's environmental education focuses on the knowledge of nature with hands-on experiences, in natural spaces that make them feel part of the environment in which they develop, creating empathy with the living beings and natural resources that surround them, thus awakening the desire to preserve them.

In this sense, the "Water School" project aims to support the education of school-age students (8 to 17 years old) in public and private educational institutions in Latin America for the further development of knowledge on water-related issues, which will contribute to improving their relationship with the environment and the resources that the planet has available for human beings.

ALADYR WATER OLYMPICS

In 2020, we initiated the ALADYR WATER OLYMPICS, an educational activity aimed at introducing school children, from elementary to high school, to the concepts of Desalination, Reuse, and Treatment of Water and Effluents. We believe that it is crucial to bridge the gaps in reliable information about the technologies advocated by the Association. To achieve this goal, we have adopted the approach of engaging with schools. This strategy not only enables us to provide timely and high-quality content to children but also helps to raise awareness among teachers about the need to explore water management processes and demonstrate the advantages they offer in ensuring access to safe drinking water.
In the past four years, over 16,000 children from various schools and countries have participated, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru.
We invite you to learn about the 2024 Olympics.
