Ruben is a civil engineer graduated with distinction from the University of Chile. He has a master’s degree in science and a specialization in Water Supply and Infrastructure Engineering from NSC-IHE Delft, The Netherlands. Ruben has over 14 years of professional experience in engineering and industrial projects, water supply infrastructure for large-scale mining including design of marine projects, desalination plants, and hydraulic transportation of water from the plant to the mine reservoir. He has experience in large reverse osmosis seawater desalination projects (capacities greater than 264 gps) and industrial water treatment, including treatment of mining effluents and acid mine drainage.

He works as Technical Director of Solutions for Latin America at IDE Technologies, where he has promoted technological solutions for effluent treatment and desalination projects in the region under distinct types of contracts: EP, EPC, and BOOT. He has published over 10 articles in national and international conferences on water treatment and desalination and has developed teaching in water treatment.
