Topic & Objectives: Brine from desalination plants contains valuable minerals such as potassium, magnesium and calcium salts, and ocean brine mining has the potential to surpass terrestrial mining as a source of rare-earth metals such as lithium, strontium, cesium, rubidium and barium. Ocean mining brings a new era and perspective of exploration of the vast water resources of the planet and is recent trend in seawater desalination of worldwide significance. This webinar presents and discusses the latest advanced technologies for extraction of ocean minerals and rare metals from brine generated by desalination plants.
